Today we rememberd Police Constable Ronan McCloskey of the Metropolitan Police who was killed on this day in 1987.
The officer was on his first night duty when he stopped a car to speak to the driver. Realising the driver was drunk P.C McCloskey attempted to arrest him. As he did so the man drove off dragging the officer for half a mile before crashing the car.
As a direct result of the driver’s criminal actions to escape arrest he inflicted terrible injuries to the officer from which he died.
Ronan was just 25 years old.
We placed our memorial in remembrance of his service and sacrifice at the corner of Dudden Hill Land & Denzil Road, London in March 1989.
Remember this awful murder of a young cop. Rest in eternal peace young man. 💙🙏🏻👮🏻♀️👮

The Police Roll of
Honour Trust’s Roll of Remembrance records this day in the calendar as one of worst days throughout history for the loss of police lives.
Some 29 officers from all four corners of the United Kingdom have been killed on this date serving the British public.
We are honoured and proud to display the officers names today at the country’s National Police Memorial in The Mall in London.
Sending condolences to the families and the utmost respect for those Police Officers killed in the line of duty, always remembered never forgotten 😪👮♂️
Rest in peace

Today we have remembered Police Constable Jeffrey Tooley of Sussex Police.
The officer was killed on this day in 1999 whilst engaged on traffic duties conducting stop checks in Shoreham-By-Sea.
He was received fatal injuries when a drunken driver refused to stop at the road check and drove at speed straight at the officer in order to escape.
Jeffrey died on 25th April. He was just 27 years of age.
In July 2000 we erected our memorial on behalf of the nation in memory of the officer’s service and sacrifice in Brighton Road, Shoreham-By-Sea in July 2000.
Respect and thanks for the service of this very brave police officer, our thoughts are with his family
Rest in Peace Constable Tooley .Another Police Officer taken far too young . My thoughts are with your family friends and colleagues at this time .
How can one person value so little another person's life ? This brave young officer should have had years ahead of protecting the community and making a positive difference to people's lives. Rest peacefully, PC Jeffrey Tooley.
As I get older I look at ever single officer and know I'm privileged to be served by the best police forces in the world....so so young
RIP PC Tooley. So young.
May his brave soul rest in peace. Another brave officer who laid down his life in the cause of right.
Rest in peace Jeffrey 🌹
The worhless piece of excrement that drove at this officer at 51mph in a 30, was a convicted robber, and a drunk driver. What did he get? 7years! Pathetic. CJS not fit for purpose.
God bless him and his family xx
RIP OFFICER 💙💛💙💛
Rest in peace young man. I suppose the drunken driver is now free. It's so wrong. xx
