Today marks 40 years since the murder of WPC Yvonne Fletcher outside the Libyan Embassy in St James’s Square, London on April 17th, 1984.
Her memorial was the first to be unveiled by The Police Memorial Trust on February 1st, 1985 after its formation by film producer Michael Winner the previous year.

Mrs Michael Winner lays our floral tribute to mark the anniversary of the tragic death of WPC Yvonne Fletcher.
Mrs Winner was interviewed by many of the press and news media who attended the service.
Many people went to the anniversary service to pay their respects to the murdered officer.
Members of our Board of Trustees were in attendance at the event.
