Today we unveiled our memorial to PC John William Kew of West Riding Constabulary in Kew Court, Swinton, Mexborough.
PC Kew was shot twice by a local resident while making routine enquiries.
John was only thirty years of age.

We have now unveiled our memorial to Police Constable Peter Charles Guthrie QPM of the Warwickshire & Coventry Constabulary.
The unarmed officer shot and murdered in 1972 whilst trying to arrest a suspect who had broken into a gun shop.
Peter was only twenty one years of age.
